Success of DAICEL’s Team in the 4th Edition of the Technical Competition TALENTS FOR COMPANIES
For the fourth time, DAICEL had the honor of mentoring a team participating in the prestigious technical competition TALENTS FOR COMPANIES. On Thursday, October 10, 2024, the local 4th edition of this exceptional event took place at the headquarters of the Sudecka Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Świdnica.
The competition featured eight-member teams composed of three primary school students, three secondary school students, a teacher, and a company representative serving as a technical mentor. DAICEL’s team included students and teachers from the Mechanical School Complex in Świdnica and Primary School No. 6 in Świdnica, supported by employees from the company’s Production Engineering Department.
Technique and Teamwork
The goal of the competition is to promote technical education among young people, encourage them to pursue careers in technical fields, and develop practical skills in this area. The competition tasks revolved around building machines and vehicles using MERKUR construction sets, enhanced with programmable components. Teams were given just three hours to create a miniature model of an industrial production line. The projects were evaluated based on clearly defined criteria by an international panel of experts.
The DAICEL team performed exceptionally well, earning first place at the local level, which secured their advancement to the second stage of the competition in the Czech Republic.
Preparing for the Next Challenge
To prepare thoroughly for the international stage, the team was invited to DAICEL’s factory in Żarów. During the two-hour visit, the students had the opportunity to learn more about the company – its products, production processes, and organizational culture rooted in Japanese traditions. The meeting also aimed to strengthen team integration and develop a strategy for the next stage of the competition.
Second Stage in the Czech Republic – Another Success
On November 15, 2024, the DAICEL team traveled to Hradec Králové to participate in the second, international stage of the TALENTS FOR COMPANIES competition. This time, the task was to construct a miniature model of a wind power plant. The competition was intense, with all teams completing their projects ahead of schedule. The final results were determined by the precision of execution, compliance with instructions, task division, and teamwork efficiency.
Once again, the DAICEL team rose to the challenge, successfully completing their assignment and advancing to the grand international final, scheduled for June 2025 in Prague.
